Board Certified PsychiatristDr. Brenton Yuen is a proud Hawaii-grown millennial psychiatrist who brings island calm to even the stormiest of minds. Board-certified and battle-tested, he has spent his career helping patients navigate everything from everyday stress to complex psychiatric conditions across a diverse range of backgrounds.
His training took an especially memorable turn as Chief Resident at the University of Hawaii during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic—because nothing quite prepares you for psychiatry like trying to maintain mental health while the entire world is simultaneously on fire and wearing masks. He later served as Acting Chief of Psychiatry and Acting Medical Director at the Hawaii State Hospital, where he honed his ability to bring clarity, compassion, and the occasional well-timed dad joke to high-pressure environments.
Today, Dr. Yuen provides thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care through both telehealth and in-person appointments at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center. Whether you’re joining him from your lanai or his office, you’ll find a collaborative, non-judgmental space where you can finally put down the emotional baggage you’ve been carrying since… well, probably longer than you’d like to admit.
